Destin, Ft. Walton & Navarre Beach Weddings

They call it the Emerald Coast, and when you see it for the first time, you'll understand why.

The water doesn't just look blue or green—it glows.

It's the color of sea glass, of mermaid tales, of the Caribbean transplanted to the Florida Panhandle.

Standing at the water's edge with the person you love, you'll wonder why you ever considered anywhere else.

“Our guests kept saying 'I had no idea Florida had water like this.' The emerald color in our photos looks edited, but it's not—that's just what Destin looks like. And the Southern hospitality is real. Everyone we met was so genuinely kind.”

— Lauren & Brett, Nov 2025

Why Destin, Ft. Walton & Navarre?

The Emerald Coast Difference

The fine quartz sand here is uniquely white — more sugar-fine than almost anywhere else in Florida — and the Gulf water runs a brilliant shade of emerald green that photographs spectacularly.

Navarre: Florida's Quietest Beach

If you want seclusion, Navarre Beach is consistently one of the least-crowded beaches in Florida, despite being stunningly beautiful. It's perfect for intimate ceremonies away from the crowds.

Destin: Vibrant & Accessible

Destin offers excellent dining, a lively harbor district, world-class fishing, and plenty of accommodation options for guests. It's easy to get to from Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS).

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we need a permit for a ceremony on the Emerald Coast?
Yes — Okaloosa County (Destin/Fort Walton) and Santa Rosa County (Navarre) both require beach wedding permits. We handle all permitting for you.
What airport is closest to Destin?
Northwest Florida Regional (VPS/Destin–Fort Walton Beach Airport) is right there. Pensacola International (PNS) is about 45 minutes west. Panama City Beach (ECP) is about an hour east.
Is Navarre Beach really that quiet?
It really is. Navarre Beach is part of a Gulf Islands National Seashore and has limited commercial development. Your ceremony will feel genuinely private and peaceful.
What's the best time of year for a Destin wedding?
June through August is peak tourist season, but May and October avoid the peak summer crowds while still having beautiful weather. Spring (March–April) and fall (September–October) are our top recommendations.
Can guests go fishing or do watersports near Destin?
Destin is known as the “World’s Luckiest Fishing Village” and has more charter fishing boats per capita than almost anywhere. Deep sea fishing, dolphin tours, snorkeling, and paddleboarding are all easily arranged for your wedding guests.

Fun Facts about Destin & the Emerald Coast

The World's Luckiest Fishing Village
Destin has more charter boats per capita than any other city in Florida — it earned the nickname "World's Luckiest Fishing Village" from the vast schools of fish drawn by the 100-foot-deep East Pass channel.
Emerald-Green Water
The brilliant emerald color of Destin's Gulf water comes from white quartz sand and the unique underwater topography of the continental shelf, which rises sharply just offshore.
Eglin Air Force Base
Eglin AFB near Fort Walton Beach is the largest Air Force base in the world by area, covering over 700 square miles — and it helps keep the surrounding area very family-oriented and safe.
Henderson Beach State Park
Henderson Beach State Park in Destin preserves some of the most pristine sugar-white dunes on the entire Panhandle, offering couples a totally undeveloped natural ceremony backdrop.
Navarre: Florida's Most Relaxing Destination
Navarre has been called "Florida's Best Kept Secret" — its quieter, less-developed beach is often ranked among the least crowded in the state.
